Audio stays on your Mac in both. Pro sends text only: Cloud Polish sends the finished text of a dictation to be edited, and meeting insights send a transcript's text when you ask for them. Private sends neither. Vaitly Meetings is in beta and arrives with the next update.
Is Private really on-device?
Yes. Recognition, vocabulary, snippets, transforms on Apple Intelligence or a local model, insights and history all run and stay on your Mac. Only a transform you point at a cloud provider sends text, and the app labels it.
What is the difference from Pro?
Pro is Private plus AI editing and Vaitly Meetings, which send text — never audio — to Vaitly's server for AI features. If nothing should leave your Mac, Private is the product for you.

Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or later) on macOS 14 Sonoma or newer.
